Lanna Mae Berns, a devoted family woman, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. Born on August 12, 1949, in Trenton, she was the daughter fo Eddie and Iva (Morris) Ames. Lanna’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, dedication, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her. She married the love of her life, Tom Berns, on July 26, 1970.
A proud 1967 graduate of Jefferson High School, Lanna embarked on a career as a beautician—a path that allowed her to express her creativity and bring joy to others through her exceptional skill and caring touch. Her work was more than a profession; it was a passion that reflected her nurturing spirit.
Lanna’s heart was fullest when she was surrounded by her family. She cherished spending time with her children, Terri (Kat Wardyla) Berns and Edward (Lauren) Berns, and reveled in the joy her grandchildren Arden Goode and Kade Goode brought into her life. Family was everything to her, and she poured her love into every moment shared with them.
Her proudest accomplishments extended beyond her career. Lanna was an avid bowler, a talented cook and baker whose delicious creations were a source of delight for all who had the privilege to taste them. These passions, alongside her family, defined a life rich with simple pleasures and deep happiness.
Though her parents and brother, Robin Ames, has passed on before her, Lanna’s memory will continue to live brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love remain a treasure to her family and friends.
Lanna Mae Berns leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that only a truly remarkable woman can create. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a guiding light and a loving soul who made the world around her a better place.
