To view Larry's video tribute, please click on the tribute wall above. Lawrence “Larry” Brancheau, age 83 of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Beaumont Trenton Hospital. Born April 18, 1938 in Newport, Larry was the son of Varnum and Evelyn (Hoffman) Brancheau. A graduate of Monroe High School, he married the love of his life, Donna Schiffler, on November 29, 1958. Larry had worked at General Motors and then later for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1990. Larry took great pride in serving his community as a fireman with the London/Maybee/Raisinville Fire Department, as a Special Deputy with the Monroe County Sheriff Department as well as serving in the National Guard. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus 1266. Larry enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing baseball and working with dogs and horses. Larry leaves to cherish his memory, Donna, his wife of the past 62 years; children: Larry (Darla) Brancheau, Terry (Anita) Brancheau, John (Kellie) Brancheau and Dawn (Billy) Cupp; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 2 siblings: Melvin (Barb) Brancheau and Clifford Brancheau; as well as many nieces and nephews. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bernard Brancheau and a sister-in-law Laura Brancheau. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Larry may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the Dementia Society of America or the American Heart Association.
