Lawrence “Larry” Stewart, born August 11, 1949, in Wyandotte, Michigan, passed away peacefully in Midland, Michigan, surrounded by the love of his family. Larry was the beloved husband of Barbara Stewart and the late Deborah Stewart. He was a devoted father to William Stewart (Heather), Shannon Glatfelter (Brian), and Scott Stewart (Amy). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Benjamin, Samuel, Joshua, Christian, Nicholas, Jamie, Jaxson, and Jase, all of whom brought him tremendous joy .A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Larry carried a strong sense of duty, integrity, and dedication throughout his life. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career with Marathon Oil Refinery until his retirement. Larry was deeply committed to his community through his longtime involvement with the Moose Lodge. The friendships he built and the service he provided through the organization were a meaningful part of his life. He valued the sense of fellowship, camaraderie, and community that the Moose Lodge represented and was proud to support its mission throughout the years. Family was at the center of Larry’s life. He rarely missed an opportunity to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events and was one of their biggest supporters. He treasured time spent visiting with family, especially his siblings, and creating memories with those he loved. Larry was also known for his appreciation of classic automobiles, particularly his cherished Studebaker. Whether sharing stories with friends and family or spending time enjoying his hobbies, he brought warmth, humor, and steadfast loyalty to those around him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Rose Stewart; his sister, Charlene Quiroz; and his sister-in-law, Fran Stewart. He is survived by his siblings William Stewart; Patrick Stewart (Carmen); Michael Stewart (Maryanne); Raymond Stewart; and Carol Lukas (Jay); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly. Larry will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to those he cared about, and the quiet strength and kindness that defined his life. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the countless memories he leaves behind. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Larry’s life and to honor the lasting impact he made on all who knew and loved him.
