Leroy Edward Digue Jr., 87, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, surrounded by family. Leroy was Born on March 2, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Eileen and Leroy Digue Sr. Leroy is survived by his brother, Mike (Linda), and was preceded in death by his brother Greg (Cathy). Leroy graduated from Holy Redeemer High School then enlisted into the Marines. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Leroy enlisted in January 1957. He served two tours with the USMC. He carried the values of honor, discipline, and resilience throughout his life. On October 17, 1964, Leroy married the love of his life, Jean Stella (Kania). Together they shared more than 50 years of marriage before her passing in 2016. Their union was blessed with four sons, who were the pride and joy of his life: Don, Doug, David (Melissa), and Dan. Leroy especially cherished his role as “Grandpa” to his grandchildren, Justin (Michaela) and Mattison.
After his military service, he built a distinguished career as an Assistant Vice President of the loan department at Security Bank and Trust in Southgate, Michigan. He is remembered for his integrity, wisdom, and dedication to his community.
Beyond his professional achievements and family devotion, Friends and family will remember him for his sharp wit, steady presence, and the sparkle in his eyes whenever he spoke of his cars. A proud Detroit Tigers fan, Leroy rarely missed a game, his love for baseball was as steady as his devotion to work and family. He also found joy in hunting, a pastime he treasured. Beyond these passions, Leroy was well known for his lifelong love of classic cars. His trophy room stands as a testament to countless hours of dedication, craftsmanship, and recognition for his many accomplishments in the car enthusiast community
Leroy’s legacy is one of service, strength, and love. He leaves behind not only his family but also a community of friends who were touched by his kindness and character. He lived a life defined by devotion to family, service to his country, and a deep passion for classic cars.
Now reunited with his beloved Jean, Leroy rests in eternal peace, leaving behind a life well lived and a love that will endure forever.
