Lezema Stegall, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on June 22, 2025, in Trenton, Michigan, at the age of 86. Born on April 6, 1939, in Hamilton, Alabama, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family.
In her lifetime, Lezema cultivated deep relationships that enriched the lives of those around her. She is survived by her cherished children: Dinah, Felix (Sharon), and Neal (Chantia), who carry forward her spirit of kindness and strength. Lezema took immense pride in her six grandchildren and six great-granddaughters, each of whom she adored and treated with an abundance of warmth and affection. Her role as a matriarch was not merely filled with family duties but was also defined by the extraordinary love she shared with them. Her legacy will undoubtedly live on through their cherished memories.
Lezema is also lovingly remembered by her three sisters and one brother, who shared in countless moments of joy and camaraderie throughout their lives. She was a devoted sister who held their bonds close to her heart, nurturing relationships that spanned generations. Additionally, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews, each of whom were recipients of her generosity and affection.
Her life was marked by resilience and compassion, even in the face of sorrow. She grieved the loss of her husband, Clarence Stegall, who passed away in 2016, and six siblings who left this world before her. Yet, throughout her journey, Lezema remained a beacon of love and support for her family, navigating the tides of life with grace and dignity.
As we remember Lezema Stegall, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose life was rich with experiences, love, and dedication to her family. Her gentle spirit and infectious smile will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.As we gather to celebrate the life of Lezema Stegall, let us remember her gentle smile, her loving embrace, and the lessons she taught us about living with kindness and compassion. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at New Chapel CME, 1799 MS-25, Fulton, Mississippi, on June 28, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. She will then be laid to rest at New Chapel CME Cemetery.
