Linda Marie Tanner, born on May 19, 1954, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, passed away on September 5, 2025, at Corewell Health in Dearborn, Michigan. She lived a life steeped in love and devotion to her family, who were the center of her existence.
A proud alumna of Carlson High School in Gibraltar, Michigan, having graduated in 1972, Linda took her education and combined it with her vibrant personality, becoming a warm and welcoming presence to all she encountered. She had a knack for making everyone feel accepted, embodying kindness in her everyday interactions.
Linda was well-known among her family for being an exceptional cook. Thanksgiving dinner was her cherished tradition, a time when the kitchen filled with delightful aromas, drawing her family together around the table. She created lasting memories with her grandchildren as they baked Christmas cookies, passing down recipes and stories that would echo through generations.
In addition to her culinary talents, Linda’s interests extended into the realm of shopping, where she showcased her generous spirit by always offering her assistance to those in need; she also enjoyed being in the sun and water at the beach. Her caring nature was matched only by her unwavering support for her loved ones.
Linda's family will deeply miss their matriarch, her loving heart leaving a void that can never be filled. She is survived by her children, Michelle (Doug) Fowler, Chuck (Jenny) Tanner, James Tanner, Jennifer Rofaki, and Denise Tanner; and she was a proud grandmother to Michael (Megan), Joseph, Jesse (Nayla), and Edward. The legacy of her love continues as she holds the title of great-grandma to Aria and Ryatt.
Linda was the beloved sister of Kenneth (Rose) Wells, Terry (Norm) Rutkowske, and Karen (the late Bob) Kline. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and a wealth of other loving family and friends who will forever cherish their memories with her.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Edward Tanner who proudly served our Country during Vietnam in the United States Army, her son, Kenny Tanner, her parents, Kenneth Wells and Barbara Waggoner Dodge (James), as well as her brother, Dennis Wells.
Linda will be missed by her cats: Missy, Harley, Tony and Mickey.
