Listen to Obituary

Lino was the best of dads when his children were young. He took his daughter Ethnee to the very first “Daddy Daughter Dance” at Anderson Elementary School and continued this tradition until she graduated from 6th grade. They always ended the evening with an ice cream sundae at Friendly’s Ice Cream Shop.

He was very sports-minded and coached his son Angelo’s youth baseball, spending many an evening catching Angelo’s 65 mph pitches. He also dedicated himself to Angelo’s travel hockey. going to many cities; Iron Mountain, Chicago, Windsor and as far as Saratoga, NY.

He gave his children a love for outdoors taking them to their grandpa’s farm, feeding the cows apples, petting the lambs and catching Bluegill in the pond. He nurtured in Angelo an enthusiasm for hunting, taking him rabbit, pheasant, deer and elk hunting.

Lino served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970 earning the Bronze Star. He never forgot his comrades in arms and helped over 40 veterans navigate the myriad of procedures to obtain entitled compensation.

He was a religious and devout Catholic attending Sunday and daily masses. He believed that charity is the heart of the soul giving generously to St. Philip’s Food Pantry, Food for the Poor, Our Lady of the Woods, CSA, THAW program and PAWS.

Although he was unable to travel, he was a thoughtful Nonno. He supported his wife, Melinda, to travel to Arizona and Texas to spend time with their adult children and their grandchildren. He and Melinda shared a marriage for nearly half a century, passing away just shy of their 48th anniversary.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda, his daughter, Ethnee, his son, Angelo, and his grandsons, Griffon, Drake and Marcus.

May Lino, the Lord’s departed servant, rest in peace.
