Louis Joffery Baker Jr.

Louis Joffrey Baker Jr., age 74 of Newport, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Born in Wyandotte, Louis was the son of Louis and Lillian (Sposkey) Baker. He married the love of his life, Linda Ann Giebel, on June 7, 1968. He faithfully served our country in the United States Navy. Louis worked at McLouth Steel and then Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Mason and the Southgate VFW. Louis was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and working on cars. Louis leaves to cherish his memory, Linda, his wife of the past 52 years; children: Linda (Duane Hatch) Baker, Louis Baker and Steven Baker; grandchildren: Jessica Hatch, Devon Hatch and Duane Hatch Jr.; great grandchildren: Sabrina Hatch, Damion Hatch, Duane Hatch III and Kiona Hatch; siblings: Lenny (Pat) Baker, Connie (Sid) Howell, Tammy Baker and Bonnie Kohn; two sisters-in-law Alice Baker and Beatrice Clelland and two brothers-in-law Peter Giebel and Paul Giebel. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Frank Baker.
