Louis Gustave Lehman

Louis Gustave Lehman, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Lou was born on July 20, 1942 to Gustave and Louise (Dupont) Lehman. He spent his youth split between DeTour, Michigan, and Detroit, Michigan. He graduated with the Class of 1961 from Boysville High School in Macon, Michigan.

Following graduation, Lou proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He carried the values of service, dedication, and loyalty with him throughout his life.

Lou was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Jane, with whom he shared nearly 49 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on family and helping those around him.

Throughout his career, Lou worked as an electrical warehouseman, earning the respect of colleagues for his extensive knowledge, strong work ethic, and willingness to help. Even after retirement, he continued putting his skills to good use. He devoted countless hours to setting up Santa’s Magic Forest in Taylor, Michigan, benefiting Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry.

A faithful member of Our Lady of the Woods Church, Lou lived his life with quiet strength and kindness. He was known for his calm demeanor and was never easily frustrated. Deeply loyal to his family and friends, he was always the person to call when something needed to be fixed. No matter the task, Lou would often drop everything to lend a helping hand.

In his free time, Lou found joy in working in his yard and mowing his lawn, taking great pride in keeping his home looking its best. He had a strong interest in history and enjoyed learning about the events that shaped the world.

Lou will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, generous spirit, steady presence, and willingness to help. His love for his family and friends leaves a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Lehman; his two children, Linda (Jeff) Schrieber and Mike (Diana) Lehman; and his two grandchildren, Logan Schrieber and Elana Schrieber.
