Margaret Mary Funchion

Margaret Mary Funchion, formerly of Maybee and Dundee, passed away on June 27th, 2025, at the age of 83. Born March 3rd, 1942 to the late John T. and Viola Atchison.

A graduate of Dundee High School, Margaret's professional journey spanned over three decades as a Lab Technician at the University of Michigan. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a cherished member of St. Irene Catholic Church in Dundee, where she actively participated in church activities and fostered relationships with fellow parishioners.

In her personal life, Margaret found joy in the simple pleasures: she loved butterflies, flowers, and crocheting. These hobbies reflected her nurturing spirit and her connection to the beauty of the world around her.

Margaret is survived by her sons, John (Kimberly) Funchion, Jim (Jeanette Bernham) Funchion, Jeff Funchion, and her daughter, Michelle Funchion. She is also remembered fondly by her sisters, Judith Longanbach and Jane Murdock. Margaret's legacy lives on through her nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory forward.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Victor Winnes.

Services to honor Margaret will be held at The Liedel Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, 9061 Raisin St., Maybee, MI 48159. Visitation will take place on Wednesday July 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at London Twp. Cemetery, Milan.

Margaret's life was a testament to love, dedication, and the importance of family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
