Martha (Jenny) Dula

Martha Virginia Dula, age 93 of Allen Park,  passed away peacefully October 13th, 2022. Loving wife of the late John (Jack) Dula. Beloved mother of Julie Dula, Valerie Dula, John (Kathy) Dula, Maria (Dave) Gayner and Christina Dula (Effie Culp). Proud "Da" of Mitchell (Lauren) Gayner, Bradley Gayner and Carly (Mark) Marek. Great grandmother of Savannah and Patrick Marek and Lucas Gayner. Martha is preceded in death by siblings Betty Jiniright, Ann Stringer, Bird McBride and Inky Bush. She is survived by sisters in law Frances McClosky, Lois Dula, Debbie McBride and many nieces and nephews.

Martha, known as 'Virginia' in the south and 'Jenny' in the north, was born January 3rd, 1929 to the late Julian Davis McBride and Martha Swift Carmean. She met her husband 'Jack' in Valdosta, Georgia while he was stationed at Moody Air Force Base, where she was working as a civilian employee. They raised their five children in Michigan where they owned and operated several small businesses, including Jenny's Gifts & Collectibles. She was an avid reader and gardener. Many will remember her for her special, handmade, knitted Christmas stockings; a tradition that was started by her mother (MeMe).

A funeral mass will be held for Martha on Monday, October 17th, at 12:00 Noon at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Allen Park. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Angela Hospice, or the hospice organization of the donor's choice.
