Martin Edward Medved, Jr.

Martin Edward Medved, Jr., of Grosse Ile, MI, was born on July 26, 1933 and called home by God on December 10, 2022.

He is preceded in his passing by parents Martin and Rose Medved and his loving wife of 53 years, JoAnne Medved.

He is survived by: sons Brian and Martin Medved; sister Rosemary Hanlon; brother-in-law Tom (Jackie) Long; granddaughter Chanell (Andres) Mendez, and great-granddaughters Amelia Lyn and Adalyn Sofia.

He was affectionately known to many simply as Marty and/or Junior. Martin proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is a graduate of Detroit Southwestern High School (Class of 1951) and later earned hi sdegree in construction management from Lawrence Technological Institute. Martin worked for 38 years for Chrysler Corporation in the areas of plant engineering and in construction purchasing.

Martin was a very easy going family man who enjoyed the simple things in life such as: Working in the yard of his Grosse Ile, Michigan home, enjoying the view of the canal and various wildlife while listening to the radio on the deck, reading historical and military themed literature, playing the saxophone and clarinet, making Slovakian baked goods especially kiffles and paczkis, traveling to northern Michigan particularly the Petoskey and Harbor Springs areas, trying his luck at the casino, staying up on current events, going to sporting events especially the Detroit Tigers, attending classic car and boat shows, and lending a helping hand to anyone who was in need.

He is a past President of the Grosse Ile Rotary Club.Martin will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
