Mary Ann Waun

Mary Ann was born on September 3, 1930 in Ypsilanti, Michigan and died at her home in Riverview on May 10, 2017 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of 66 years to Joseph. Loving mom of David (Laura), Beverly Petty, Gary (Diane), Denise (Alan) Proudlock, Michele (John) Rydzewski, Mary Jo (Steve) Green and Keith (Darla). Cherished grandma of 20 and proud great grandma of 12. Also survived by 17 foster children as well as other loving family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents John and Mary (nee: Papp) Marossy and one brother John Marossy. Mary Ann graduated from Holy Redeemer High School and retired from Peoples Bank; after her retirement, she worked at Harbor Branch Oceanographic in Florida. Mary Ann spent many years at local elementary schools in Florida as a volunteer who taught children to read. While her family was her love in life she also loved to crochet, and spent many hours making afghans that she would donate to local senior citizen programs.
