Mary Jean Brant, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, departed from this world on September 19, 2025, in her home in Maybee, Michigan. Born on February 15, 1932, Mary was the daughter of Peter and Catherine (Vandenburg) Lozon in St. Clair, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Charles A. Brant. Mary lived a vibrant life filled with love, creativity, and an unyielding spirit.
Mary dedicated much of her career to Michigan Bell, exemplifying hard work and commitment. Yet, her true passion extended far beyond her professional life. She found joy in the delicate art of sewing, creating exquisite outfits for Barbie and Ken dolls. Her craftsmanship and creativity led her to travel to various Barbie Doll Conventions, where she proudly showcased and sold her treasured creations. Mary’s talent was not confined to sewing alone; she also found immense pleasure in baking cakes for birthdays, graduations, and weddings, enhancing celebrations with her delicious treats.
A woman of faith, Mary deeply valued her church community and regularly participated in church functions, further highlighting her generous spirit and dedication to others. Her love for learning shone through her passion for reading books, solving crossword puzzles, and writing letters to her friends, a testament to her warm-hearted nature and desire for connection. An avid viewer of Judge Judy, she found laughter and enjoyment in her daily routine.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her husband Charles; daughter Ann Brant and her grandchildren: Taylor Brant, Timothy Campbell, Felicia Campbell, Allyssa Campbell, and Steffen Campbell. She shared a special bond with her siblings, Sharon Liedel and Virginia Harwood, who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved son Robert Brant and her siblings Elenor Lozon, Gladys Hinsperger, Adolphus Lozon, and Robert Lozon. As she joins the ranks of those who have gone before her, her family finds solace in the memories created and the love that will forever remain.
Mary Jean Brant touched the lives of many with her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
