It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Gaglio, a beautiful and selfless woman who left this world on September 27th at the age of 78. Surrounded by the love of her family, she peacefully transitioned after a remarkable journey through this life.
Mary was the heart of the family. She lived for her children, grandchildren, and all those she welcomed into her home. She was a proud mother to seven children: Rosa Abbulone (Russ Abbulone), Sandy Bommarito (Salvatore Bommarito), Gina Durdubakov, Pia Chasney (Joe Chasney), Lisa Kirk (Jason Kirk), Rosolino Gaglio, and Christina Hayes (Brandon Hayes). She adored her 17 grandchildren, each one holding a special place in her heart: Pietro Bommarito, Vito Bommarito, Aleksandro Kirk, Samuele Bommarito, Caterina Abbulone, Maria Abbulone, Angelina Gaglio, Maria Kirk, Sophia Kirk, Vito Gaglio, Jack Chasney, Julian Chasney, Martina Durdubakov, Giovanni Gaglio, Jason Kirk, Jacob Kirk, and Theo Hayes. Her love and care extended beyond her immediate family to countless others who were blessed to know her.
Her passion was found in the kitchen, where she expressed her love through her baking and cooking. To be at her table was to feel comforted, cherished, and nourished—not just with food, but with warmth and presence. Every dish she prepared carried with it the essence of her giving spirit.
More than anything, Mary believed in family and togetherness. She worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone remained connected, making her presence the glue that bound us all. Her selflessness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones will remain her legacy for generations to come.
Mary is also survived by her sisters Maryann Furnari (Frank) and Joann Agner (Steve). Along with her brother Sam Giarmo (Nancy). Mary was preceded in death by her husband Vito Gaglio, her parents Gasper and Santa Giarmo, and two brothers Joe Giarmo (Tina) and Rosario Giarmo(Pina),
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday October 1, 2025 at The Allen Park Chapel Martenson Family of Funeral Homes from 2:00pm until 9:00pm, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the incredible woman she was. A funeral service will be held the following day Thursday October 2, 2025 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with an instate at 9:45am and mass at 10:45am. Entombment at Our Lady of Hope to follow.
Though she is no longer with us, her love will forever guide our hearts.
