It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories, we remember the remarkable life of Mary P. Krzyzowski (née Palazzolo), who passed away on July 5, 2026 at the age of 86. She was born on December 30, 1939, in Van Buren Township, Michigan. Mary’s life was filled with hosting family holidays and spending time outdoors.
As a jack of all trades, she poured boundless care and energy into creating a loving and welcoming home, one that became the heart of every family gathering where she shared her many stories. If ever there was an accomplishment that filled her with pride, it was undoubtedly her family. Her children—Thomas Tomas, Victoria (Glen) Wilkes, Holly (Jeff) Haller, Joseph (Dawn) Foley, and April (Butch) Tiefry—are living reflections of her kindness, her passion, and her steadfast support. Mary’s legacy grows still in her grandchildren: Brie, Kaelyn, Alex, Brandy, Kelli (Mark), David (Kristy), Chelsea (Charles), Brooke, Maigan (Larry), Brad, Paige, Joey (Nikki), Sydney, and Leo, each of whom carries forward her spirit in their own unique ways. This love continued on in her 19 great-grandchildren.
Mary also leaves behind her beloved sister, Rosemary Palazzolo, with whom she shared unbreakable sisterly bond. And is preceded in death by her brother, Edward Brown.
She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Dennis Krzyzowski, with whom she built a life rich in humor, support, and partnership.
Mary’s life was filled with joy and passion. You were never sorry when you came around the corner to find a noodle maker on the counter and her covered in flour. Her love of soup has been passed on through the generations.
Her home bloomed with gardens she tenderly cared for, reflecting both her green thumb and her love of nature. If she wasn’t in the kitchen or garden, Mary could be found cheering from the sidelines at her family’s sporting events, beaming with pride at each accomplishment. Animals of all kinds found a friend in Mary, but perhaps none more so than her horse Beau, with whom she enjoyed countless serene rides—a true animal lover through and through.
As we bid farewell to Mary, we remember her love to tell a story about her childhood, her children, and of her many travels.
Though Mary has left this world, her memory is woven tightly into the fabric of those who loved her, her impact felt in every delicious meal, every well-tended bloom, and every story passed down. We are grateful to have been part of her beautiful life, and she will be dearly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Please visit Mary's online guestbook to share memories and leave condolences for her family.
