With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Mary Ann Watson, who died peacefully on February 17th at the age of 95, surrounded by her loving and caring family.

Born on July 3, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, to John and Anna Kerekes, Mary was the youngest of three children, and was preceded in death by her twin brothers John and Michael Kerekes.

Mary was devoted to her beloved husband, John Campbell Watson for 64 years, until his death in April 2015. They met at the age of 16, were engaged at the age of 20, and wed on August 11, 1951. She was also a loving and devoted mother to her three children, Dennis Michael Watson, Sharon Ann Hollis (Duane), and John Scott Watson, and a very proud grandmother of her three grandchild, Zachary John Hollis, Molly Katherine Watson, and Shelby Mackenzie Watson.

Mary and John raised their family in Lincoln Park, Michigan and moved to Gibraltar, Michigan in 2001 where they settled into a life of travel and spending time with family and friends. Mary lived a life of quiet strength and religious conviction. She attended weekly mass at St. Roch’s Catholic Church in Gibraltar until she because house-bound0, where she continued her devotion by watching two masses every day, a Traditional Latin Mass and a Modern English Mass.

In celebration of her life, a memorial mass will be held at St. Roch’s Catholic Church, Gibraltar, Michigan on Friday, February 27, 2026, with an instate gathering starting at 10:30am and mass at 11:00am.
