Michael Kujala

Michael was born on April 18, 1962 in Iron Mountain, Michigan and grew up and lived in Kingsford, Michigan until 1993. He died on May 5, 2017 at Beaumont Hospital Dearborn at the age of 55 and was of Dearborn. Beloved partner of 24 years to James. Michael is also survived by his five brothers, Conrad Kujala and Douglas Kujala of Quinnesec, MI, Wayne Kujala of Gladstone, MI, Jack (Diana) Kujala of Orleans, MI and Jeffery Kujala of Kingsford, MI. Four sisters, Nancy (John) D'Amour of East Wenatchee, WA, Jean VanWinkle of Spokane, WA, Linda (Brad) Ross of Niagara, WI and Catherine (Mark) Swenski of Iron Mountain, MI. And many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Charlotte (nee: Ascher) Kujala, brothers Richard Leslie, Steven and Theodore, and sister Fay Lemke and other loved ones. Michael graduated from Kingsford High School. During his life he owned a bicycle repair company, worked as a service counter agent at Northwest Airlines and was later employed as a driver for FedEx and eventually became manager of a FedEx office. He collected vintage oil lamps, enjoyed "yard-sailing", owning and raising blood hounds and also loved to go camping. Memorial contributions to honor Michael's life may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
