Molly Felty, affectionately known to many as “Molly Pops,” passed away on March 11, 2026, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, at the tender age of 21. Born on October 9, 2004, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Molly’s life, though tragically brief, was illuminated by an extraordinary light of kindness, bravery, and selflessness that touched all who had the privilege to know her.
From an early age, Molly embodied sweetness and compassion in every aspect of her life. She was a true angel, a gentle soul who consistently put the needs of others before her own. With a heart so full of love, she cherished her family and friends deeply and found joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether spending time with her beloved dogs Macy, Chi Chi, and Cooper or unwinding watching her favorite shows during moments of quiet reflection she called “bed rotting.”
A proud graduate of Allen Park High School, Molly had been attending Henry Ford College when she was taken from this world far too soon. Her ambition was great; she dreamed of entering the medical field, driven by a profound desire to give back and make a difference in the lives of others. She was not one to sit idly by—instead, she devoted many years to volunteering as a cheerleading coach, instilling confidence and joy in the young athletes she mentored. This was one of her proudest accomplishments, a beacon of her generous spirit and dedication to uplifting those around her.
Molly’s courage was unmatched. She bravely looked cancer in the eye and faced her battle with unwavering strength and determination. Throughout her illness, she remained a warrior—never giving up, never succumbing to despair. Her resilience was inspiring, and in those moments, she revealed a depth of bravery that defined her final chapter. Even as she fought, she continued to shine brightly, showing us all the meaning of true courage.
Her personality was a testament to the power of kindness. Those who knew Molly remember her as the embodiment of sweetness and compassion, a selfless individual who always prioritized others’ well-being. Her nickname, Molly Pops, echoes with affection and fondness, a reminder of the joy and warmth she brought into many lives.
Molly is lovingly remembered and mourned by her mother Michelle (Kenny Crawford) Felty, her sister Madison Felty, and a circle of devoted family members including aunts and uncles Karen (Danny) Cordell, Renee (Gary) Yuhaz, Matt (Debi) Waddell, and Renee (John) Ternes. She held a special place in the hearts of her grandparents Glenn Waddell and Randy and Verne Felty, her nephew Damian, along with many cousins Jessica, Brett, Michael, Devin (Alondra), Sarah (Luke), Jeremy, Cole, Ethan, Nolan, Jayne, Evan, Ryan, Abigail, and Amelia. Numerous friends too, cherish her memory and mourn the loss of a truly remarkable young woman.
Molly’s family also remembers with love her grandma Betty Waddell and uncle Derek (Elaine Carr) Waddell, who have preceded her in passing. Their memories live on, woven into the fabric of the family’s story, just as Molly’s spirit will forever remain present in the hearts of all who loved her.
