Mr. Dominic F. Grancitelli

Born in Monroe, Dominic was the son of Anthony & Generosa (Bonifacio) Grancitelli. He proudly served his country with the United States Army serving from January 19, 1943 until March 11, 1946. While in the Army he served as a Criminal Investigator and Athletic Instructor, instructing soldiers and officers in judo and judo bayonet hand to hand combat techniques. He then married Marian Renner on November 20, 1948. Sadly she preceded him in death January 14, 2003. Dominic was well known for working hard to support his family. He owned and operated Builder's Ready Mix for over 40 years, retiring in 1998. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and VFW Post 1138. Dominic leaves to cherish his memory a son John Grancitelli of Monroe; a daughter Lisa Grancitelli of Monroe; six grandchildren: Tony, Nick, Nathan, Dominic, John and Genarosa; as well as four great grandchildren: Austin, Logan, Nicholas, Devon and a dear sister-in-law Wanda Grancitelli. In addition to his wife and parents, Dominic was preceded in death by a son Tony Grancitelli; daughter Pat McClendon; a brother Joseph Grancitelli and four sisters: Mary Soloman, Lucille Morris, Roseann Rauch and Lilian Cipolla. In accordance with Dominic's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of the Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be Saturday. The family will greet friends from 10:30am until a Memorial Mass at 11:00am from St. Joseph Catholic Church. Inurnment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
