Mr. James O. Hoover

Hoover, James O., age 73 of Grosse Ile, passed away on November 20, 2015. Beloved husband of Mary Ann. Loving father of Kristi (Salvatore) Pascarella and step-father of Robert (Bessie) Newbery. Proud grandfather of Mia Cecilia Pascarella, Joey Newbery and Brandy Newbery. Dear friend of many, especially Larry "Mopar" Yuerhs and Sonny Gandee. He is also survived by his dogs Taz and Little One. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Cecilia Hoover. Jim was the dedicated owner of Hoover's Boat Livery on Grosse Ile. He loved boating, snowmobiling, and golfing. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and earned a purple heart for his service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in honor of Jim may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Grosse Ile Animal Shelter.
