Mr. Ricardo 'Rick' Hernandez

Loving husband, father, grandfather and brother Ricardo "Rick" Hernandez was born on October 12, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan and died in his Allen Park home surrounded by family on October 5, 2017 at the age of 63 after a six-week battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Peggy, proud father to Robynn Riley (Barry Borchardt), Lisa (Chris) Marshall and Angela (Daniel) Loyd. Loving grandfather of Calib Riley (Stephanie Gubics), Kelsey Riley and Lily Marshall. Dearest brother of Daniel (Judy) Hernandez. Loved and survived by nieces, nephews and many other family members. Preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe and Esperanza (Santos) Hernandez. He was a graduate of Ecorse High School ('72). He retired from Detroit/Hamtramck GM Assembly after 31 years of service, and enjoyed post-retirement careers with Ford Field S.A.F.E. Management and balloon twisting. Rick loved his Detroit Tigers and Lions, traveling with his wife and making friends everywhere he went. Visitation is Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 1-9 pm, at the Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd (Corner of Goddard). Rosary Sunday at 7 p.m. Funeral service is Monday, October 9, 2017, In-State 9 am until Mass at 10 am at St. Andre Bessette Catholic Church in Ecorse, 4250 W. Jefferson Ave. Interment Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andre Bessette Parish.
