Mr. Thomas N. Mehlhose

Thomas N. Mehlhose, age 74, of Monroe, passed away Monday September 23, 2013 in his home, he had been in declining health. Tom was born March 16, 1939 in Wyandotte, MI to George L. and Fern E. (Sieloff) Mehlhose. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1957. He proudly served his country for 21 years in the Michigan Air National Guard, retiring as a MSGT in 1983. Tom was formerly married to Barbara K. Arthurton on Feb 25, 1967 in Wyandotte. His employment included Wyandotte Chemical for 9 years and Ford Motor Co. Woodhaven Stamping Plant for 32 years, retiring in 1997 as a Foreman. Tom was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of Monroe Barber Shop Quartet, his hobbies included real life and toy trains, hunting, garage sales, auctions, old cars, sports, air shows and collecting anything and everything. Tom is survived by his loving children, Scott (Jolene) Mehlhose of Otsego, MI and Pollyanna (James) DeLand of Erie, MI; sister Mary Lou (Elmo) Langley of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Megan DeLand, Gerard DeLand, Karen (Brian) Lowrey and Robert Doederlein; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Brianna and Ashton. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother David.
