Myra Elizabeth Morrin

Myra Elizabeth Morrin (née Leiby) gained her wings on July 11th, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on February 4th, 1951, in Trenton, Michigan, Myra lived a full and dedicated life, marked by service to others, a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

A proud graduate of Airport High School’s class of 1969, Myra went on to earn her Medical Assistant Certificate. She devoted many years to serving the community as a Bus Aid for Jefferson Schools and worked as a Medical Secretary for several local physician offices and in the downriver area. Her attention to detail, compassion, and steady presence made her an asset to all those she worked with and an example for those she mentored. Never one to rest on her accomplishments, Myra also nurtured her entrepreneurial spirit with a small floral crafting business, bringing floral creations to weddings, holidays, and craft shows.

Myra’s warmth, creativity, and zest for life shone through in every aspect of her life. She was a woman of many hobbies and interests. Alongside her beloved husband, Craig "CJ", their retirement years were filled with adventure—taking cruises to foreign countries and road trips across the states, savoring the thrill of discovery together. Myra found joy in shopping, surrounding herself with the beauty of the great outdoors, and appreciating every creature, great and small, that crossed her path. She delighted in setting up bird feeders and relished simple pleasures like going for drives to take in the scenery.

In her younger years, Myra was active in sports, playing softball and volleyball, and enjoyed swimming at the beach. Some of her happiest moments were spent camping and going to the cabin with family and friends, playing cards—Canasta, Pinochle, Euchre—and sharing laughter and camaraderie around the table. As time went on, she developed a true passion for flowers, cultivating beautiful gardens with her remarkable green thumb. Her care for her plants reflected the nurturing spirit she gave to those around her.

She was a dedicated member of Stewart Road Church of God, a lifelong member of the Stoney Pointe Beach Association Board., and also participated in the Red Hat Society.

Myra is survived by her loving husband, Craig "CJ" Morrin, whom she married on October 18th, 2008; daughters, Kim Elliott and Brenda Morrin; son, Chad (Mandi) Morrin; sister, Dorothy Moates; and brothers, Jim (Gale) Leiby and David (Cheryl) Leiby. Her fur baby, Savannah, and grand fur kids, Roxie, Clyde, Remi, Cal, B-Kitty, Titan, and Saphire. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially those closest to her heart.

She is predeceased by her parents, Martha Virginia (Bates) Leiby and David Clifton Leiby; sisters, Kathleen and LeeAnne; brothers, Bill and Gary; nephews, Billy, Jimmy, and David; and niece, Cheryl. Though she grieved their losses during her life, their memories remained ever cherished and their spirits continued to inspire her.

A Memorial Gathering to honor and celebrate Myra’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Allore Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, located at 203 E Elm Ave, Monroe, MI 48162. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the same location, where the family strongly encourages everyone to wear your Detroit Tigers gear. 

Myra’s legacy of kindness, enthusiasm, and wholehearted devotion to her loved ones will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her generous heart, and her ability to find joy and beauty in every season of life.
