Nancy Lee Benyo, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 30, surrounded by family in her home. Nancy was a resident of Gibraltar, Michigan.
Nancy was born on July 9, 1938, to James and Marjorie Clark in Lincoln Park, Michigan. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956 and was married in 1957. She was a loving homemaker for 26 years and then started a new career as a volunteer at the American Red Cross at the Wyandotte Hospital. After 20 years of faithful service, she retired as the Chapter Chairman of the Red Cross. In her retirement, Nancy loved to entertain at her home, setting the most beautiful table for all occasions. In addition to entertaining, Nancy is known for writing heartfelt, warm, poetic messages to family and friends.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Roger William Benyo, with whom she has been married for 68 years. She had five siblings: Ruth Walters, William (Bill) Clark, Sheila Beverly. Sister- in-law Donna Clark. Nancy had four children: Patrick Joseph Benyo, (Deanna), and Michael John Benyo, (Debra). Daughter-in-law, Sue Benyo, and Daughter-in-law, Chris Benyo. Nancy was blessed with 13 Grandchildren. She is survived by Elizabeth Collins, (Shawn), Nicholas Benyo, Jessica Benyo, Jennifer Benyo, Tabitha Katke, (Jason), Rebecca Morgan, (Ryan), Andrew Benyo, (Jessica), Jacqueline Ward, (Joshua), Jason Benyo, (Brandi), Joseph Benyo, Tori Benyo, and Jonathon Benyo. She was also loved by 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by Siblings: Anne Lane, (William), and James Clark. Sons: Roger William Benyo Jr. and James William Benyo. Grandchild: William Benyo.
Visitation will take place at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. A Knights of Columbus rosary will begin at 6:00 pm. The service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church, where Nancy will lie in state from 10:00 am until mass at 10:30 am. Immediate family only will process to Mt. Carmel Cemetery for burial.
