Oda Jean Vanbelle

Born December 31, 1929 in Hamilton, Ohio, Oda was the daughter of Steve & Annalee (Hacker) Britton. She married the love of her life, Alfonse VanBelle on June28, 1958. Sadly he preceded her in death July 25, 1994. Oda worked as a secretary for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1984. She loved traveling and crocheting; was a past member of the Monroe Moose and First Baptist Church. Oda leaves to cherish her memory a brother Larry Britton of Monroe; nephew Todd (Adina) Britton of Ida; a niece Lisa (Eric) Haiss of Clarkston as well as great nephews: Todd Britton Jr., William Britton, Ethan Haiss and Sawyer Haiss. In addition to her husband, Oda was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call Friday from 2pm until a celebration of her life at 7pm at the Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm Ave. Rev. Tom Carr of North Monroe Street Church of God-Mountain Assembly will officiate. Burial will be next to her husband in St. Joseph Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Oda's honor are asked to consider the Alzheimer's Association.
