Opal Bernice Cawood, age 96 of Monroe, passed away September 27, 2022.

Born December 20, 1925 in Fonde, Kentucky, Opal was the daughter of George and Dora (Howard) Hodge and granddaughter of Barbara Howard, Jacob Monday, John Will Hodge and Sarah Bell Marion. Opal worked at the Oakridge Nuclear Bomber Plant in Tennessee, she then worked for Tech Products and then Sharon Manufacturing from 1972 until her retirement in 1991. A member of the Rebekahs, she enjoyed bowling, playing cards and traveling.

Opal leaves to cherish her memory many nieces and nephews. Sadly she was preceded in death by her parents; a son William Cawood Jr. and five siblings: Irene Proffitte, Levada Hill, Leeottie Rellias, Geneve Hodge and John Will Hodge.
