Pamela Jean Filkins

Pamela Jean Filkins, of Grosse Ile, Michigan, passed away on October 19, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on September 29, 1955, in Trenton, Michigan.

Pamela built her career as a medical transcriptionist, bringing dedication and care to her work. Outside of her profession, she found joy in Bible study and Christian music, interests that reflected the faith and values that were important in her life. She also loved her dogs and cats, enjoyed traveling to Grand Cayman Island, and especially treasured spending time with her sons and family.

Above all, Pamela’s life was centered on the people she loved. She is survived by her husband, John Filkins II; her sons, Kevin Thomas and Ryan Thomas; her sisters, Peggy Skaggs and Carol Bourliar; her niece, Nicole Baldwin; and her nephew, Mark Andrew Bourliar. Her family will remember her with love and gratitude for the time they shared and the many memories she leaves behind.

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Viola Skaggs.

Visitation will be held on October 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes.

Pamela Jean Filkins will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
