Raymond F. Lilly

Raymond F. Lilly, age 87, of Riverview, died at 11:00 p.m. on March 11, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He had been in declining and poor health for several years. Raymond was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 31, 1929. He was one of four children born from the union of the late Joseph and Ella (Maley) Lilly. Raymond married the love of his life, the former Geraldine Pattenaude, on November 17, 1956 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in River Rouge, Michigan. From their union would come the birth of eight children. Family was very important to him, as he cherished the time spent with his wife and children. Raymond was a very hard and dedicated worker. He supported his family working at McLouth Steel in Trenton, Michigan until taking retirement in 1980. Raymond is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine; children Darlene Lilly and Michael Lilly of Riverview, Daniel (Cheri) Lilly of Newport, Kathy (Brad) Puckett of Southgate, Gloria (Ted) Schaafsma of Flat Rock, Carol Lazarski of Woodhaven, Joyce (John) Lazarski of Brownstown, and Angela (Eric) Richards of Southgate; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Mary (Simon) Williams. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Edward and Robert (Elsie) Lilly. The family suggests donations in memory of Raymond to the Alzheimer's Association.
