Raymond Charles Martin, Jr., passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Born on June 13, 1939, in Smithsburg, Maryland, Raymond lived a long and fulfilling life, defined by devotion to his family, his career, and his community.Raymond’s legacy is intertwined with his deep commitment to those he loved most. He was the beloved husband of Koneta K. (Holdren) Martin, with whom he shared a lifetime of dedication and cherished memories. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: sons Gregg and Eric, and daughters-in-law BethAnne and Denise. Raymond was a proud grandfather to Alexandra, Tyler, Jamie, and Stephanie, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.He is preceded in death by his son, Dane, as well as by his father, Raymond Charles Martin, and his mother, Sarah (Rudolph) Martin. Their memories and influences were ever-present in his life and in the values, he passed to his own family.Raymond devoted over forty years of his life to a distinguished career with Mobil Oil, retiring in 1999. His work ethic, reliability, and commitment to excellence made a lasting impression on his colleagues and all those who had the privilege of working alongside him.A passionate supporter of youth athletics in his community, Raymond coached many little league teams throughout Monroe County, sharing his love of football, basketball, and baseball. Through these efforts, he inspired countless young people, teaching them not only about sports but also about teamwork, discipline, and respect.Above all, Raymond cherished his family. Their happiness and wellbeing were always at the forefront of his heart, and he considered his role as a husband, father, and grandfather to be his greatest accomplishment.
