Richard G. Adkins, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully on August13, 2025, in Taylor, at the age of 73. Born on August 2, 1952, in Detroit, Richard dedicated nearly 40 years of his life to his career as a roofer, a profession he loved with all his heart. His commitment to quality and craftsmanship made him a respected figure in the industry, known for his strong work ethic and integrity.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Richard was the life of the party. His vibrant personality and fun-loving spirit drew people towards him, lighting up any room he entered. A sharp dresser, he took pride in his appearance, always ensuring he looked his best. He enjoyed celebrations of all kinds, relishing in the joy and laughter that came with being surrounded by friends and family.

Richard’s passions extended beyond work; he was an avid gardener gifted with a remarkably established green thumb. Many admired his ability to nurture plants, transforming spaces into lush, vibrant gardens that reflected his personal touch and love for nature.

He is survived by his dear son, Craig Adkins, who carries on his legacy, as well as his loving siblings: Donna Carter, Ronald Adkins, Greg Adkins, and Renee Demoss. For the past 38 years, Richard shared a rich and fulfilling partnership with Diane Dreske, who stood by his side through thick and thin, sharing countless memories and experiences in their journey together.

Richard was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Richard and Freida Adkins, who instilled in him the values of hard work and kindness. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The warmth he brought to every interaction and the love he radiated will forever be remembered by his family and friends.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 3200 West Road, 48183.
