Robert Henry Christian, a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Born on October 8, 1935, in Tennessee, Robert’s life was marked by warmth, wit, and an enduring love for his family and the simple joys that made his days bright.

Known affectionately by many nicknames—Bob, Pops, Papa Roo—Robert was a man whose presence enlivened any room he entered. His quick humor and legendary one-liners were a trademark, often shared during family gatherings where his love for cards shone brightest. A devoted player of euchre, Bob preferred making bold moves alone, delighting in the challenge and the camaraderie that followed.

Robert’s passions were as distinctive as his personality. He cherished the soulful melodies of country music, often singing along to the songs of Hank Williams and Willie Nelson, and at times offering an original tune of his own. Western movies captured his imagination, Yankees baseball ignited his enthusiasm, and horse races sparked his playful competitive spirit.

At the heart of Robert’s legacy was his protective and unwavering love for his three daughters: Patty (Jeremy) Burklow, Lori Carlton, and Michelle (Tony) Merchant. His conversations with his grandchildren—Tiffany, Tabitha, Sarah, Alissa, Allison, Brooke, Raymond, Marcus, Olivia, Branden, Brian, and Lauren—were filled with jokes and affectionate storytelling, strengthening bonds that would endure for generations. He was also a proud great-grandfather to ten wonderful great-grandchildren, whose lives he touched with his kindness and humor.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy and granddaughter Miranda. Though they are no longer with us, their memories live on deeply cherished by those who knew and loved them.

A private Committal Service will be held.

Robert’s spirit will endure through his family’s love, the stories told at every gathering, the songs sung softly in quiet moments, and the laughter that will forever echo with the warmth he gave so freely. He will be missed profoundly by all who had the privilege to know him.
