Robert Mayhew

Robert was born on December 13, 1926 in Marietta, Ohio and went home to be with the Lord on October 11, 2022 at the age of 95; he was of Taylor, MI. Cherished husband of 69 years to Lillian. Loving father of Thomas (Madelyn) Mayhew, Katherine (Jeffrey) Leja and Diane (Stephen) Balaj. Proud grandfather of Jenna, Eric, Christine, Heather, Sean, Lauren, Sarah and Allison. Great grandfather of Gwendolyn and Natalie. Also survived by other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Borgerding. Robert proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force and was retired from Ford Motor Company. His family was his love in life; he was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church where he served as an usher, led a Prayer Group and helped in any way he could. He often gave people finger rosaries as a way to share his Catholic faith and he is a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Robert belonged to RC clubs and was very talented at modeling and constructing RC airplanes and boats. There is no visitation at the funeral home. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 6442 Pelham Rd., Taylor, MI until the time of the Funeral Liturgy which will begin at 10 am. Robert's family extends an invitation to all for a luncheon, immediately following the service, provided in the church hall. There will be a private interment at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made by having a Mass prayed for Robert or by making a donation to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
