Ronald Dominic Dalton

Ronald D. Dalton, a devoted husband, loving father, and respected business leader, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026. Born on December 19, 1937 in Ecorse, Michigan, Ron’s life was a testament to dedication, perseverance, and the deep bonds of family. He had strong faith that carried him through all challenges of life.

Ron’s journey was marked by both personal and professional achievements. He earned a Master’s Degree, an accomplishment that paved the way for his distinguished career. He served as an Executive Vice-President for Huron Valley Steel for 64 years. His leadership and vision left an indelible imprint on the company and those who had the privilege to innovate with him, especially his dear friend, the late Dick Wolanski.

Beyond his career, Ron’s heart was firmly rooted in his family. For 33 years, he was happily married to Yvonne Bartok, who preceded him in death. They were blessed with an adventurous life and three children: Steven Dalton, Megen Day (Bill), and Shannon McGovern. For 31 years, he shared a strong and loving partnership with his wife, Gloria, who stood by him through every chapter of life.

Ron’s grandchildren, Lauren, Michael (Kyla), Matthew (Veronica), Erin, and Sean were a source of immense joy and pride, brightening his later years with laughter and love. Ron’s warmth extended to his siblings, brothers Mick and Dick and a sister, Sr. Mary Anne who remained an important part of his life story. And his beloved dogs, Gidget and Bear.

The values Ron cherished were lovingly instilled by his parents, Dominic and Marge Dalton, whose memory he carried with him every day. Their legacy lived on in the kindness and strength Ron demonstrated to those around him. Ron’s life was a rich tapestry, woven from threads of hard work, genuine care for others, family devotion, sunny golf days in Naples and his golf league in Riverview. He leaves behind family and community deeply touched by his compassionate spirit and unwavering commitment. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him. He was a remarkable man whose presence made every moment brighter.

He had a lifelong love of numbers, and even in his later years, this fascination never left him. Though Ron is no longer with us, his legacy of love, leadership, and integrity remain steadfast in the hearts of all that were fortunate to know him.

His journey on this earth has ended but his impact will further endure.

Visitation: Tuesday, July 14, 11 am-2 pm at the Trenton Chapel of the Martenson’s Family Funeral Home located at 3200 West Road, Trenton, MI 48183.

Interment: Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, Huron Twp.
