Ronald Lee Bolenbaugh, age 82 of Rockwood, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at Beaumont Hospital Dearborn. Born October 3, 1938 in Goshen, Indiana, Ronald was the son of Andrew and Lucy (Manning) Bolenbaugh. After graduating from high school, Ronald earned a teaching degree from Western Michigan University, and furthered his education at Eastern Michigan University, earning twomaster’s degrees. He married the love of his life, Barbara (Kay) Ruppel, on August 20, 1960. Ronald worked as an educator for Southgate School District for over43 years, retiring in 1997. He was an avid hunter and fishermen. He enjoyed shooting trap and skeet and was a member of the Carleton Sportsman Club. Ronald was also a member of the First Congregational Church in Rockwood. Ronald leaves to cherish his memory, Kay, his wife of the past 60 years; a son Andy Bolenbaugh; a granddaughter Samantha Bolenbaugh; a great grandson Hudson Lytle; two siblings: Roger (Jackie) Bolenbaugh and Joann (Barry) Heywood as well as a brother in law John Ruppel. In accordance with Ronald’s wishes cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ford Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
