Rose M. Kuras, (Gma Rose/CiociaRose) passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in her home. Born in Detroit, Rose was the daughter of Anthony and Ursula (Raczkowski) Wisniewski. She married the love of her life, Francis “Specs” Kuras on May 3, 1947. Sadly he preceded her in death April 21, 1991. Beloved mother of Susan (Gerard) Schulz and Shirley (Robert) Soltesz. Most cherished and extremely proud grandmother to: Jeremy Schulz, Kara (Larry) Morabito, Rob (Kristen) Soltesz, Adam (Alysse) Schulz and Nick (Melissa) Soltesz. Olivia Schulz, Matthew Schulz, Logan Morabito, Ellouise Morabito, Stella Soltesz, Henry Soltesz, Luke Schulz, Benjamin Schulz and Nico Soltesz were truly fortunate to call her Busi, their great grandmother. Rose loved God, her family, church, bingo and the Detroit Tigers. She truly enjoyed family gatherings during the holidays or any other occasion. She lovingly attended as many of her grandchildren’s sporting events all through their school years and delighted in every moment. Her needs were met by meeting the needs of others. Rose was truly a remarkable matriarch who led by example. She was blessed by many nieces and nephews and loved them all dearly. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Sophia, Stella, Wanda and Genevieve; as well as two brothers: Victor and Joseph. Rose was a lifelong member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and more recently of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by not only her family and friends, but also the many acquaintances she met at the American House in Southgate, where she lived for the past 20 years. Rest in peace dearest Rose, you are simply one of the best. Due to the current COVID pandemic, the family has decided to have a celebration of Rose’s life at a later date.
