Rosemarie Shinavier beloved wife, mother, sister and cherished friend passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025 with her daughter and son by her side. Born September 8, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan.
Rose is reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Richard, loving parents, Joseph and Olga (Korzym) Fenech and cherished brother Richard Fenech. She is remembered by her daughter Lynn (Ken) and son Robert, adoring grandchildren Jessica, Brian, Grant, Haley, her great-granddaughters Samira and Parker.
Rose attended Thomas M. Cooley High School in Detroit. After graduation in 1953 she began her professional journey as a “Hello Girl” and stenographer for Michigan Bell Telephone Company. Rose discovered a love for travel when she had an opportunity to accompany her father to Malta to meet his family. From there they continued to visit Rome, Paris, London and Ireland.
After marrying her dear husband Richard, her focus shifted to nurturing her family and her faith. As a wife, mother & homemaker she created a comfortable haven for her family. She found pleasure in creating and had a passion for sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and all forms of crafting. Rose so enjoyed reading a good romance novel, attending theatre and musical performances, casino trips, movie going and a proper English tea with her girlfriends.
When Rose wasn’t traveling or seeing a show, you could find her at home cheering on her favorite sports team, the Detroit Tigers. Every season she would proudly display her Tigers jersey and garden gnome.
Rose’s family and her beloved girlfriends brought her the most joy in life and she loved them dearly. They were the wind beneath her sails, uplifting her and always by her side. The memories she made with her loved ones, both at home and across the world, are treasures that will forever resonate within our hearts.
Throughout her life, Rose demonstrated the power of optimism, quiet courage, and unwavering strength. She handled all of life’s ups and downs with dignity and grace. No challenge was too big for her, and she was an inspiration to all.
As we come together to celebrate the life of Rosemarie, we are reminded of the warmth, kindness, and love she showed to all who knew her. Her legacy will endure in the stories shared, and the laughter that uplifts our spirits, just as she did throughout her extraordinary life.
