It is with heavy hearts and so much love that we announce the passing of Russ Abbulone, who passed away peacefully on August 15th at the age of 68, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Sicily, Italy, in 1958, Russ came to the United States at age 10 and built a life he was deeply proud of. In 2016, he fulfilled one of his greatest goals by becoming a U.S. citizen.

Russ was a loving husband to his wife of 35 years, Rosa, and a devoted father to his daughters, Caterina and Maria. Family was the center of his world. He and Rosa were known for bringing people together hosting gatherings, feeding everyone Iggy’s Pizza, and making sure no one ever left without laughter, food, and a sense of belonging.

Russ had a personality that could fill any room. Loud, full of life, and impossible to miss, he made every moment bigger and brighter. He loved telling stories, making people laugh, and turning ordinary days into memories. His energy, humor, and ability to connect with anyone were part of what made him unforgettable.

For 45 years, Russ poured his heart into his work, owning and operating Andy’s Coney Island and Iggy’s Pizza. His dedication, long hours, and pride in his businesses were a defining part of his life, but everything he worked for always came back to his family.

Russ will be remembered for his laughter, his stories, his stubbornness, his generosity, and the joy he brought wherever he went. He leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring both tears and smiles for years to come.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosa, and his daughters, Caterina and Maria. He was loved deeply and will be missed endlessly by all his friends and family. Though his time with them was far too short, the love he gave will last a lifetime.
