It is with great love and sadness that we share the passing of Russ Wittman, who dedicated his life to family, friends and his career
A proud Michigan State fan, Russ could always be counted on to cheer for the Spartans. Beyond his career and passions, he was most proud of his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ernie and Dorthy Wittman, brother Wayne Wittman and his wife of 50 years, Dodo. He leaves behind his daughter, Kelly Ferencz, and his granddaughters, Hannah and Hailey Ferencz who brought him endless joy as well as his brother John Wittman and sister Alexis Wittman.
Russ spent 50 years at Charles E Raines Co, where he began his career in the early 1970s and went on to purchase the business in 2001. He led the company for two decades with quiet determination and integrity, before stepping away in 2021 when his long career came to an unexpected close. Known for his steadfast presence, sharp mind, and memorable one-liners, Russ left a lasting mark on both his profession and the people fortunate enough to know him.
Russ will be remembered for his loyalty, humor, and steady hand—for showing that a good life is built through dedication, resilience, and love.
Visitation in honor of Russ will be held on Thursday August 28, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM, a date that also marks Russ and Dodo's 55th wedding anniversary. A graveside service will take place the following morning Friday August 29, 2025 at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery at 10:00 AM.
