Russell B. Figi

Russell was born on July 4, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan and died on January 28, 2017 at Beaumont Hospital Farmington Hills at the age of 58; he was of Grosse Ile. Cherished son of Newell "Bob" and Carol. Beloved brother of Donna Figi-Bernstein (Marty Bernstein). Loving uncle of Victoria. Dearest nephew of Susan Canon and Gary (Pam) Figi. Also survived by his cousins as well as other loving family and friends. Russell graduated in 1976 from Grosse Ile High School and went on to earn his Associates Degree from Wayne County Community College. He was a good friend who had a great smile, loved listening to 70's rock music; especially Johnny Winter and Jimmy Hendrix and eating apples. Russell enjoyed wood carving; especially working on duck decoys and enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He was very active with the Downriver Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. A memorial service to be at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Grosse Ile is being planned for a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Grosse Ile or Grace Church, Allen Park.
