Russell Bielawski, Jr. was born on April 4, 1983, in Youngstown, Ohio. He grew up in Rockwood, Michigan, with a great love for both school and life.
Russell was the valedictorian of his class at Carlson High School, where he was a member of the swim team and a percussionist in the marching and symphonic bands. He also toured with the Americanos and the LakeShoremen drum corps, having the time of his life.
Russell earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering and computer science from the University of Michigan. He spent much of his career working in the automotive industry and also spent time teaching math in China.
Russell loved to travel, spend time outdoors, play the drums, and be with his family and friends. He possessed a huge presence and an even larger heart, and he was known by all for his extreme generosity and fun-loving spirit.
He is survived by his mother, Kelly Bielawski, his father and step-mother, Russ and Kim Bielawski, his sister and her husband, Evelyn and Greg Jankowski, his brother and his wife, Andrew and Jessica Bielawski, his nephews, William and Anthony, and his grandmother, Margaret Bielawski. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bernadette Kennedy, and his grandfathers William Holt and John E. Bielawski.
Russell was beloved by all his family and friends, but none more so than by his two young nephews, William and Anthony. Uncle Russ was a devoted uncle who cherished the time he spent playing games, reading stories, and playing outside with them. He will be treasured in our hearts forever.
