Ruth Hurliman

Ruth Buckfelder Hurliman of Allen Park Passed away peacefully at the age of 93 with her family by her side. Born in Buffalo, New York September 6, 1930 to Laurence and Martha Buckfelder. The beloved wife of the late Louis Hurliman.

Loving mother of Louis Hurliman Jr. (Diane), Sue Francis ( Harold), Mark Hurliman (Cara), Nancy Nicolls ( Brian Chafins), Gail Sheeran (Bill), Janet Angellotti (Mark), Annie Fallon (Liam). Was preceded in death by daughter Judith Hurliman.

Proud Grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Ruth was a devoted volunteer for the American Red Cross, having worked disaster relief in several states. She loved art, painting and working with stained glass. An avid traveler, enjoyed reading and playing Pinochle. She loved spending time with her family, insisting the same Christmas Carols be sung as the highlight of the Holiday Season. Her gentle nature brought a calmness to gatherings that would typically exceed 50 family members. She will be greatly missed.

The family suggest in the lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Red Cross (www.redcross.org) Disaster Relief.
