Salvatore 'Sam' Messina

Sam (Salvatore) Messina of Grosse Ile, age 73, passed away on October 12, 2013. Beloved husband of Linda (Ostrowski) Messina for 30 years. Sam loved fast boats, fast cars, golf, his wife and his sisters and brothers and nieces and nephews and his furry children, (Zorba, Raffinee, Tabatha, KayLoni, Kabuki, Randy, Donovan, Lovey and Gigi). Sam's career was R.C. Sales, publicly known as Ramchargers High Performance Centers, started in 1969. This was his business for 40 years. He was very talented in building high performance motors for boats and racing cars. Later, Sam and his partners developed a chain of high performance auto parts stores. Sam loved the water, boating and golf. He was an active golfing member of the Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club, and served on the Board of Directors and as Invitational Chairman. Health issues plagued Sam for the last 13 years of his life. However, he fought a good fight against the cancers as hard as he could. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Josie (Pace) Messina, his brothers and sister Ann (Michael) Balsamo, Tony (Vera), Joe (Delores), and twin Frank (Marlene) Messina. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Linda, brother-in-law Joseph Ostrowski, sister Pauline (Joseph) Zichichi and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
