Sam Kenney, Sr.

Sam Kenney, Sr. passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on November 18, 1952, he will be remembered with love by those who knew him and by the family who shared in his life.

Sam found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. He loved spending time at his property in the Irish Hills, a place that reflected his appreciation for peace, nature, and the outdoors. He enjoyed being outside, hunting, and taking trips to West Virginia, pursuits that brought him happiness and created lasting memories for those around him.

He is survived by his daughter, Theresa (Craig) Shafer; his son, Sam (Ashley) Kenney, Jr. ; his grandchildren, Tom, Joe, Nicholas, and Emily; and his sister-in-law, Donna Kenney. He also leaves behind the many memories his family will continue to carry forward, shaped by time spent together and the bond they shared.

Sam was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Kenney, Sr.; his mother, Audra Pearl (Bean) Kenney; his brothers, Paul, Joe Jr., and Jeffrey; his niece, Debbie; and his nephews, Jeff and Brandon Kenney, and Mike Hickman.

May the memory of Sam bring comfort to his family and friends in the days ahead, and may he be remembered for the enjoyment he found in the outdoors and in the company of those he loved.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday October 6th, 2026 from 2:00pm - 8:00pm, at the Allore Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E Elm Ave, Monroe, MI 48162.
