Shelby Ann Baggett, née Farmer, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, in Trenton, Michigan, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. Born on October 23, 1941, in Fonde, Kentucky, Shelby’s life was a shining example of kindness and dedication, touching the hearts of everyone she met.

For over three decades, Shelby served as the Head of Housekeeping at Riverside Hospital, where her commitment and leadership made a lasting impact. Known for her quick wit and talkative nature, she never met a stranger. Her infectious laughter and generous spirit made her a beloved figure both at work and within her community. Shelby was not just a colleague or friend; she was a pillar of unconditional support, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand to those in need.

Shelby’s family was a source of immense pride and joy for her. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Allen Mazzie and Gerald Baggett, Jr., who carry forward her strength and compassion. Her grandchildren—Chelsea, Amber, Bradley, and Nicholas—were the light of her life, and her bond with them was deep, filled with love and cherished memories. Alongside her immediate family, she is survived by many loving family members and friends who were fortunate to know her kindness and generosity.

Preceding Shelby in death were her devoted husband, Gerald M. Baggett, Sr., her parents, Freelin and Evelyn Farmer, and her brother, James Terry. Though no longer here in person, their memories are entwined with hers, a lasting connection that underscores the love that shaped her life.

Visitation to honor Shelby’s memory will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183. The funeral service will take place the same day at the funera home at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Huron Twp., MI.

Shelby Ann Baggett’s life was a beautiful tapestry of laughter, love, and unwavering support. Her presence brightened every room, and her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
