Shirley Wyszynski, formerly Jahn, passed away on May 16, 2026, in Trenton, Michigan, one day shy of her 85th birthday. Born on May 17, 1941, in River Rouge, Michigan, Shirley’s life was a testament to faith, family, and community.
Adopted by Otto and Ida Jahn through the Lutheran Children's Friend Society, Shirley was blessed with a loving upbringing in the Lutheran tradition. She was baptized into the family of God on September 4, 1941, and made her confirmation vows on April 3, 1953, at Christ Lutheran Church in River Rouge, MI—an institution that would remain close to her heart throughout her life.
Shirley’s devotion to her faith was beautifully expressed through her active participation in her church community. She found great joy in singing with the choir, teaching Sunday School, and lovingly caring for the altar. She also served faithfully alongside the ladies’ group, contributing to the “bread of life” ministry, demonstrating her deep commitment to serving others with kindness and humility.
On February 20, 1965, Shirley married her beloved husband, William Wyszynski. Their union was blessed with the gift of family, including their sons Mark, Bob (Cindy), and Tim (Jennifer). Shirley was a devoted grandmother to Katie, Shelby, Isabella, and Olivia, who were the light of her life and brought immense joy to her later years.
Shirley was a woman of grace, warmth, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. She is survived by her husband William, her three sons Mark, Bob, and Tim, and her cherished grandchildren. They will carry forward her legacy of faith, love, and service.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Otto and Ida Jahn, whose early nurturing helped shape the compassionate and spirited person Shirley became.
A visitation to honor Shirley’s life will be held on May 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183.
