Stephen Burton

Stephen Burton, passed away peacefully at his home in Detroit, Michigan, on March 26, 2026. Born on February 5, 1973, in Taylor, Michigan, Stephen will be remembered for his generous spirit, unwavering loyalty, and love for those closest to him.

Stephen’s life was deeply intertwined with his love of working on cars, a pastime that brought him joy and reflected his meticulous nature and dedication. Beyond this hobby, Stephen was known for his enormous heart and his steadfast care for his family—most notably, his brother Jamie, for whom he was always a protective and supportive presence.

He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Carl and Rosemary (Bishop) Burton, and his brothers, Lawrence Smith and Carl Burton, Jr. Their memory remains an enduring part of his story. He leaves behind those who cherished him dearly: his sister Theresa (Yashika) Smith, his brother Jamie Burton, his nephews Ryan Thomas, Jamie Burton, Jr., and a circle of loving family and friends. 

Stephen’s legacy is one marked by loyalty, and commitment to family. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him. His memory will surely live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
