Susan Marie Hawk, née Karon, passed away on September 13, 2026, at her home in Allen Park. She was born on December 30, 1957, in Highland Park, Michigan.
Susan built a remarkable career defined by loyalty, hard work, and steady achievement. She devoted 40 years to Compuware Corporation in Detroit, where she began as a receptionist and, through dedication and perseverance, rose to retire as Finance Director. Her professional life reflected both commitment and quiet determination, and her long service stood as a meaningful accomplishment.
Outside of work, Susan found joy in the simple pleasures that brought comfort and connection. She was an avid reader who enjoyed spending time with a good book. She also loved watching Lifetime movies and had a special fondness for horror movies, something she shared with her sister throughout her life. More than anything, Susan loved being with her family and friends, and those relationships remained at the heart of her life.
She is survived by her sister, Diane Johnson, and Diane’s husband, James Johnson. She is also survived by her niece and nephew, Kathleen DeLong (Stephen Justice) and Christopher Karon, as well as her great-nieces, Kelsey Granger, Alyssa DeLong, and Madelyn Marquardt and her precious puppy, Kira. They, along with her many friends, will remember Susan with love and gratitude for the time they shared with her.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Irvin Karon; her mother, Bridget Karon, née Kieltyka; and her brother, Robert Karon.
Susan will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her many years of professional service, and the warmth she brought to everyday moments. Her memory will remain with those who knew and loved her.
