Terry Bokor passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 89. He was born on January 15, 1937, and will be remembered as a gentle, easy-going, and wonderfully goofy man whose warmth made others feel at ease. Mild-mannered by nature and deeply devoted to those he loved, Terry was, above all else, a family man. His family was his world, and the joy he took in them shaped the life he lived.
Terry served in the United States Marine Corps, a chapter of his life that reflected his steady character and sense of duty. He went on to build a longtime career in sales for industrial plumbing, bringing dedication and dependability to his work over the years. Outside of work, he found happiness in simple pleasures and favorite pastimes. He loved playing cards and doing puzzles, enjoyed classic cars, and followed football with enthusiasm, especially when it came to the Detroit Lions and the U of M Wolverines.
Those who knew Terry will remember his kind spirit, his calm presence, and the lighthearted humor that came so naturally to him. He was the sort of man who could make a moment brighter simply by being himself. He was cherished as the best Dad and Grandpa ever, and there was no greater source of pride in his life than his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Bokor. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Samantha Davis, David Bokor II (Jennifer), and Emily Bokor (Aaron), who were a special source of pride and joy in his life. Terry’s legacy continues as well in his great-grandchildren, Addison, Grace, Sydney, Wyatt, and Avery, each of whom carries forward a part of the love he gave so freely.
Terry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Neila Bokor, his dear son David Bokor and by his parents, Rudy Bokor and Eva Bokor. The love they shared remains an enduring part of his story and of the family he treasured so deeply.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church located at 1709 Emmons Boulevard, Lincoln Park, Michigan 48146. A reception will follow at 12:30 p.m. at The Hungarian Rhapsody - Luncheon, 14315 Northline Road, Southgate, Michigan 48195.
Terry Bokor will be remembered with love, gratitude, and affection for the steady and joyful presence he brought to his family and friends. His memory will live on in shared stories, laughter, and the many quiet ways he made life better for those around him.
