Terry Rodriguez, of Southgate, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on January 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and his beloved canine companion at his side.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Dawn, and his cherished children, Leah Hubbard (Wayne) and Dana McGraw (Patrick). He was a PROUD grandfather to five beautiful grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters Diana Dutcheshen (Lloyd) and Connie Laginess (Rick Rabenort).
Terry was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Marion and Julian Rodriguez.
Terry was a man of strong character, loyalty, and unwavering love for his family and friends. He dedicated his life to service and protecting others, retiring as Deputy Chief of the Trenton Police Department. After his retirement, Terry continued serving the community in two roles - working security at Comerica Park for the Detroit Tigers while also serving as a Court Officer for the Wyandotte 27th District Court. He retired from Comerica Park, but remained proudly devoted to his work at the 27th District Court, continuing there until just weeks before his passing.
Outside of his career, Terry found his greatest joy in time spent with loved ones - especially sharing meals, laughter, and stories with family and his closest friends. Terry truly loved food and loved to eat, and some of his happiest moments were gathered around the table with those he cared about. He also loved riding his Harley, especially on long rides through the mountains, where he felt most at peace.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 10, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM, at The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes – Trenton Chapel, located at 3200 West Road, Trenton, Michigan 48183.
In honor of Terry’s life, memorial contributions may be made to Angela Hospice.
Our hearts find peace in believing Terry is now in heaven - riding his Harley, enjoying every delicious bite, and finally at rest with our Lord and Savior.
